2006 monte carlo vs 2002 bmw 325 cI?
I’m a student taking a year off from school to work. I need a car because I live in the suburbs and there’s no reliable public transportation. I can drive my brother’s 2006 Monte Carlo with 80,000 miles on it, or I can get a 2002 BMW 325 Ci from a dealer with 106,000 miles on it. My brother has a car note and I’d have to pay his payments for the next two years at 360 a month. Whereas I can get a car note for under 250 for the BMW. The BMW is also a manual, my preferred transmission, whereas the Monte Carlo is an automatic. Both have leather interior.

You should also consider that such a car may be expensive to insure. Check your insurance rates before buying one, for example here – carinsurance.deep-ice.com
Obviously the bmw.. Just go for the bmw.. They are far more reliable and fun to drive then a chevy..
The bmw does have more miles but as long as nothing is wrong with the car (Accident free/No water damage) Then just take the bmw TRUST ME
Please don’t listen to Michael. He’s an idiotic 16 year old who does not have his drivers license yet and thinks he’ll be driving a 996twin turbo when he turns 17. Wants to buy a high miles one used for $40,000.
Both of these cars have high miles so whichever way you choose to go, have a Private Party Inspection done. Might hurt your brothers feelings on his Monte Carlo but you don’t want to get stuck making payments on a 2006, 80,000 mile car that needs a ton of repairs. I would be inclined to lean towards the BMW if it were a newer model. As it stands, that car is coming up on ten years of age. Sure you might be able to get a lower car note, but your yearly maintenance bill on upkeep will surpass the Chevy Monte Carlo.
Personally I think both these choices are bad. You can get a small Honda or Toyota lease for less than your brothers car payment or that BMW loan. As you said, you’re a student and you need to be financially frugal. Don’t worry about leather interiors and all that nonsense right now. Save it for when you are done with school and you land a career job that allows you to buy what you want.
