Ok so I’m searching for my first car. I’m 17 and I’m getting my license september 16- my dad only wants to spend like 3K on a car for me. My brother is in a 50K (yr) college and money is tight. I found a 2001 VW Passat for sale for 3,995$ at a local dealership. I went to go check it out, it’s green with black leather and its automatic! I am really excited but I’ve been reading reviews about it and hardly anyone recommends the car. But is it a solid car for a first car for me? (mostly driving to school and back) the car has 170,000 miles on it. but for 4K? that seems like a good deal for this car, it’s really cute. help!

So…….
Yeah, I have totaled up all the money I made from working in high school freshmen to senior year and have FINALLY got a car, with 00 left over for maintenance given by my parents.
I am set on a used Audi s6. It only has 15k miles too and have personally checked out the car, its fine and will draw the attention of everyone in school for senior year hehehehehehe.
The car I was driving before….was a Toyota yaris used, automatic transmission. Piece of SHIT!
So, I want to know how hard it is to use manual shifting gears.
Of course, the Audi has tip tronic so I can choose, but how hard is it?
Specifically, my question is, the highway speed limit is 75, what if you reach that speed at gear 3 lets say? Do you just stick to that gear? Won’t it over rev the engine or something?
Sorry if I sound dumb, its just that cars in America these days are all automatic and my dad just sold his manual accord, so i can’t practice too much.
Most of this; believe it or not, comes from Gran Turismo information !!

Ok i’ve had my learners for 3 years and I really want to be able to get my proper license by december because I’ve decided to move to another state next year so I really need them.
She is lazy and when she does take me lessons she just sits there and doesn’t really teach.
wouldn’t you want the best for your kids so they can get a liscense and increases there chances of getting a job.

Hi
What year / grade are usually in when you take your driving tests at school.
Do you have weekly lessons, or is is a one lesson course?

Ok so my daughter has been begging me to get her started with driving lessons. Shes 14 and Im not to sure about it. She is very responsible, does what she supposed to, gets good grades. But is she old enough?? I was thinking it wouldn’t hurt to take her into an empty parking lot.
Please share your opinions with me on the situation. Ty

I have a friend who was told that in order to get your license before the age of 21 or 22 (not sure which it was) you’re required to take Driving Lessons now. Is this true? I live in Texas, by the way
